Oliver Gehlen is the founder of OG-architects in Bali, Indonesia. He completed his architectural studies in the 90s at the Technical University of Munich, Germany and at ETH Zürich, Switzerland with a Masters qualification.
In 2001 Oliver Gehlen moved from Berlin to Indonesia and has been permanently working and living in Bali ever since. Before establishing his own OGarchitects office in 2004, he gained work and project experience in Berlin, Mumbai and France. He obtained a degree in Industrial Business Management from the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In Berlin and Potsdam Oliver Gehlen worked in the field of city quarter management. In Mumbai he was involved for several months in slum redevelopment projects and worked for marginalized urban communities.
Currently his engagement is focused on two areas:
Practiced in San Francisco before moving to Indonesia in 1984. Set up Triaco Architect & Development Consultant (Now Triaco Arch) for the last 30 years. Most of the works are on urban planning, housing, and commercial buildings. Received the Alcoa Award, Aga Khan Award for Architecture and Best IAI (Indonesian Architects Association) Architects Award.
Teaching as a Guest Lecturer in various local as well as international Universities (like Singapore, Germany, Hawaii, Thailand.
Experienced in development and management of social housing since 30 years including development of cooperative housing in London. Establishment and development of Community Housing Ltd to the present day. Board member of Community Housing Industry Association.
